Less than 24 hours after 1.2 million voted Yes in Ireland’s Marriage Equality referendum Tourism Ireland launched a new video, “Ireland says I do,” promoting Ireland as a gay wedding destination.

The new video promotes Ireland’s famous Lisdoonvarna matchmaking festival which launched “The Outing” last year the first LGBT festival of its kind. Their recent statement, on Ireland.com, also promotes five beautiful spots for Irish weddings.

Chief executive Niall Gibbons said, "Ireland is in the international spotlight and trending for all the right reasons across social and international media.

"It's not often you get a blast of publicity like that."

The campaign, "Ireland Says I Do," will run in nine different markets, including the USA, the UK, Germany, Canada, Australia, France, Spain, Italy and the Nordic countries.

The global LGBT travel market is estimated to be worth around $200 billion a year while LGBT Europeans have a total spend on travel of $66.1 billion a year.

Gibbons added, “It's a market that's in its infancy from a tourism perspective but it's a good time to do this, it's striking while the iron is hot.”

The new Tourism Ireland release says, “It’s time for an outing.”

“Ireland’s only remaining matchmaker, Willie Daly, loves love. His Lisdoonvarna Matchmaking Festival – going strong since the 1850s and held within strolling distance of the Wild Atlantic Way and County Clare’s massive Cliffs of Moher – is testament to that as is the festival’s LGBT offshoot, The Outing (the world’s first LGBT matchmaking festival),” says Tourism Ireland.

They continue, “The Outing is a fusion of music, comedy, ceilí bands and some of Ireland’s best drag acts. But don’t forget why you’re in Lisdoonvarna in the first place. This is a matchmaking festival and you’re looking for love."

As Tourism Ireland says, “Ireland boasts some of the most dreamily romantic locations to tie the knot in the world. And YES, your big day will make your heart sing.”

Their release goes on to suggest some beautiful Irish locations for weddings.

Here’s their tips:

1. Kinnitty Castle, County Offaly

2. Sirius Arts Centre, County Cork

3. Smock Alley, Dublin city

4. Lough Eske, County Donegal
