The Dough Bros in Co Galway has one of the 50 Best Pizzas in the World, according to Big 7 Travel.

The Dough Bros' pizza ranked #15 on the list from Big 7 Travel, the only Irish pizzeria to make the cut.

"The Neapolitan-style pizzas feature both Italian and locally sourced Irish ingredients, including cold cuts and cheeses," Big 7 Travel says of the beloved Irish pizza shop.

"It’s not just the critics who love their pizzas either, the restaurant has overwhelmingly positive reviews online, with many proclaiming it the best pizza they’ve ever had anywhere – Italy included."

"Right this is getting silly now," The Dough Bros said after being named to the Big 7 Travel list.

"You couldn't make this stuff up," they added, noting that they were in some great company.

"Not bad going for a couple of chancers."

The accolade comes a year after The Dough Bros pizzeria was crowned one of the Top 100 pizzerias in the entire world and the single best pizzeria in Ireland.

Ronan and Eugene Greaney opened The Dough Bros, which started in a pizza truck, in 2013. After a year of making an impression at food festivals around the country, they took the plunge when the opportunity to pop up in a vacant space in Galway City.

Their wood-fired pizza is inspired by Naples but uses the best of Irish cheese, charcuterie, and honey to create something distinctly unique and local.

Meanwhile, the top spot on Big 7 Travel's The 50 Best Pizzas In The World list went to 10 by Diego Vitagliano Pizzeria in Naples, Italy, followed by Masanielli by Francesco Martucci in Caserta, Italy, in second place, and Una Pizza Napoletana in New York City in third. Sartoria Panatieri in Barcelona and The Pizza Bar on 38th in Tokyo round out the top five.

The rankings were determined from a combined score of reader suggestions throughout the year, online user reviews and Big 7 Travel's editorial team.
