After the previous teaser had fans thinking Cillian Murphy’s Jim had become infected with the Rage virus, the new "28 Years Later" trailer gives us a better look at the character.
We have to admit, the creature in question did bear a striking resemblance to the Irish Oscar winner, but it was later confirmed that the infected man depicted in the teaser was actually played by an art dealer by the name of Angus Neill.
Neill told the Guardian: "Danny told me he’d always had me in mind for the role. So we met up, hit it off, and I agreed to take part.
"On set, he has an extraordinary ability to hypnotise you, and working with him on the film was a very, very intense experience."
We get a better look at Neill’s infection in this new trailer, and also see star Aaron Taylor Johnson running for his life alongside son Spike, played by Alfie Williams.
The film’s official synopsis states: "It’s been almost three decades since the rage virus escaped a biological weapons laboratory, and now, still in a ruthlessly enforced quarantine, some have found ways to exist amidst the infected.
"One such group of survivors lives on a small island connected to the mainland by a single, heavily-defended causeway.
"When one of the group leaves the island on a mission into the dark heart of the mainland, he discovers secrets, wonders, and horrors that have mutated not only the infected but other survivors as well."
"28 Years Later" is directed by Danny Boyle (who helmed the original film) and written by original scribe Alex Garland. It stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jodie Comer, Jack O’Connell, Alfie Williams, and Ralph Fiennes.
While Cillian Murphy is involved in this instalment as executive producer, it’s said he won’t be appearing as Jim in the film, but hopes are high he might appear in one of the later instalments, which have already been confirmed.
