Moments before disaster struck the TG4 weather report on Halloween night. TG4

The Irish weather can change in a flash at the best of times, but nobody was expecting poor weather report presenter Caitlín Nic Aoidh to suffer this kind of fate on Monday night when her report was suddenly, and shockingly, interrupted.

The continuity presenter on TG4, Ireland’s Irish language station, was warning all trick-or-treaters going out on Halloween night of an intense storm bolting its way towards the country when it appeared the storm had already gotten the better of their Galway studio.

A report has since been released by “Fuacht TG4” (as opposed to Nuacht TG4/TG4 News) appealing for information on their presenter’s whereabouts and chronicling the last few days of strange activities in TG4 studios in the lead up to Halloween and to the station’s 20th anniversary, which also took place on Monday.

Thankfully, despite her brush with death, Nic Aoidh appears to have been spotted safe and sound on one or two occasions as TG4 held their 20th birthday bash with a two-hour-long TV special, TG4XX.

The reaction to the trick online was electric, however, as fans applauded TG4’s Halloween prank.

This isn’t the first time Nic Aoidh has jolted some life into the weather report, which being Ireland is, of course, almost always spelling out rain and needs a bit of a spark to make us feel better. The presenter from Co. Donegal previously appeared to give us our weather update using a rather unusual mode of transport!
