If you’ve ever found yourself in the charming seaside town of Cobh, camera in hand, you’ve likely hunted for that perfect postcard shot — the colorful row of houses tumbling downhill with the majestic St. Colman’s Cathedral towering above.
The “Deck of Cards” Houses, as they’re lovingly branded, have become a symbol of Cobh over the years, with tourists travelling from far and wide to marvel in their quaint beauty.
Now, one clever Cork homeowner has figured out exactly what that notorious view is worth — and they’re charging for it.
Sharing a video to TikTok, tourist and content creator Rachel Teodoro showed off her recent photo op find, and her followers are loving it.
"A family with a private garden have opened their home and if you’re lucky enough to visit when their gate is open and the sign is out, you can get an unobstructed view. All they ask is a small €2 donation in their Ferrari fund! When we were there they were collecting the donations in a wheelbarrow,’ she wrote, detailing the genius money making scheme.
"The Deck of Cards homes can be found on West View (Google Maps search of Deck of Cards finds the location) and this home is found on Spy Hill. Start at the top of the hill and walk down just a bit," she added.

The best way used to be to walk down Spy Hill, stand on your tip toes and perch your camera on the high wall and snap blindly. We have to say, we’re loving the entrepreneurial spirit, as are many taking to the comments to laud the homeowner for their ingenuity.
"What an amazing view. would definitely pay it," one user wrote.
"Absolutely would pay, it’s worth it and a very kind thing for the owner to allow," another added.
"One thousand percent I would pay to see that view and if I ever make it down that end of the country I will," a third penned.
With tourists clearly lining up for their shot of Cobh’s most iconic angle, it’s safe to say that sometimes the best business ideas really do grow in your own back garden.
