Notre Dame loss down to refusing field goal at end of first half

The decision by Brian Kelly to go for the endzone at the end of the first half against Michigan and not kick a field goal cost Notre Dame this game.

As the game wound down in the second half Notre Dame at the Michigan 27 would only have needed a field goal to win,

Instead they needed a hail Mary and Dayne Crist almost hit Touchdown Jesus instead with a high pass that Wilt Chamberlain would not have caught.

Yet another game that Notre Dame should have won, and undoubtedly would have if Crist had been healthy enough to play the entire first half.

Kelly will come away knowing that this tradition of Notre Dame losing games late cannot continue if he is to be a successful head coach.

Denard Robinsin ran amok on a Notre Dame defense that looked suspiciously like last year's sad sack version.

There are many good points from the game, but nothing changes the end result --another Notre Dame last minute defeat to Michigan, same as last year

Deja Vu all over again

Thank Goddess & God That "God's Catholic Team" lost. Our "Spell" is that they will loose untill they are humbled, and that their fan base is broken and contrite of heart.
Thank The Goddess & God that "God's Team" lost another one, Our spell is that they lose all of the, untill they're humbled, and not the "PROUD & LOFTY "GOD'S CATHOLIC TEAM!".
Typical Notre Dame create an excuse for why you lost.Notre Dame has a lot of traditions and excuses are defiantly one of of them.
What I think is that rather that putting down the Irish and their coach you should give credit where it is due and that is Lucifer's very own child: Denard Robinson. This kid has enough talent to bedevil all the saints in heaven. By making a 3 pointer at the half we would have caused the lad to gain 600 yards
On Oct. 2, Notre Dame will go into Boston to take on the real Irish football team. Go BC.
Notre Dame is about as Irish as their players are.
Who cares about this monumental waste of time? Not to mention all the brain damage the players suffer. Imagine Alzheimer's or ALS caused by all the head banging. Doesn't seem worth it.
Don"t agree. Field Goal would not have won this game in the end. With Crist hurt and not knowing if he would be able to return Kelly was trying to get the points (not 3) as they were stalling since Crist went out. Crist being hurt cost ND this game. It is obvious to me on the soft pass Cristis no Clausen, yet. It was a tough loss, and Kelly will get the team ready for State, another tough foe. Go Irish
