NOW Comes to Defense of Conservative Michelle Bachman

In yet another example of the high-tech lynching that occurs to strong, conservative woman, Newsweek tried to harpoon Michelle Bachman with an unflattering picture on its cover. But after years of hypocritical silence, NOW (National Organization for Women) finally stepped up to the plate and defended Congresswoman Bachman.

NOW took a firm stand against the front page picture used by Newsweek. It depicts GOP Presidential contender Bachman as a wild eyed crazy woman, something the DNC and its liberal henchmen in the press have been foisting on the American public ever since she reached national prominence. I'd like to see Newsweek post a picture on its cover of DNC chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schults in her natural state.

Monday, NOW spoke out against Newsweek’s most recent cover, which features an extreme close-up of Michele Bachman and the title “The Queen of Rage.”

Said NOW president Terry O’Neill. “Casting her in that expression and then adding ‘The Queen of Rage’ is sexist. Gloria Steinem has a very simple test: If this were done to a man or would it ever be done to a man – has it ever been done to a man? Surely this has never been done to a man.”....Well Terry, it has been done to men and it will probably happen again, but that is beside the point. Your organization needed to step up and defend ALL women, not just the liberal democrat ones.

Many had given up on NOW being an advocate and defender of all women, but rather believed it's main job was defender of liberalism and attacker on anything that was not on the liberal agenda....That some women were more equal and deserving of fair treatment than others.

Well that image has been somewhat changed when it issued a statement condemning Newsweek for the atrocious picture.

I suppose a Brava! is appropriate for the belated defense of Michelle Bachman. But many more kudos would come down if NOW did its job as a defender of all women regardless of political persuasion. That includes Sarah Palin and the vicious treatment she has received at the hands of the main stream press.

Perhaps NOW could assign full time bodyguards for Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachman as the political season heats up. That might help atone for the past dereliction of duty on NOW'S part.

It's an absurdity to ignore the biggest unconstitutional crime ever forced down the American taxpayers throats by nancy pelosi with obamacare when she told us: You will have to pass the bill before you will know what's in the bill. THE LEADER OF THE CONGRESS SAID THAT!!!
While I think that Newsweek shouldn't have put that unflattering picture of Michelle Bachman on their cover, I don't think they would put an unflattering picture of Michelle O'Bama, Nancy Pelosi or Rachel Maddow on their cover because those women's statements have never reached the absurdity and inaccuracy of many of Ms. Bachman's statements.
NOW is a blast from the past. They haven't had media coverage in years. I'll bet the youth don't know who there are. Actually, I think NOW was trying to give Newsweek a plug. Newsweek was once a profitable magizine, but no one read liberal propaganda any more.
After reading this article; I'm busy looking for the world's smallest violin.
Who doesn't have an unflattering picture of themselves? How juvenile of Newsweek to deliberately choose that picture to use on their cover. I'm not buying any of their flimsy, nonsense explanations. They did the same thing to Sarah Palin. I'll bet they wouldn't have done that to Michelle O'Bama, Nancy Pelosi, or Rachel Maddow had they been running for President. Newsweek should've been able to attack Bachman's policies on their own merit without having to resort to using an unflattering picture to try to make their case. It's insulting of Newsweek to think that Americans won't support a candidate if they see an unflattering picture of him/her on a magazine cover. To Newsweek: Grow Up. It's not a beauty contest, it's the policies that matter, Stupid. Btw: I'm an Independent. I'd be insulted if they'd done that to a female Democratic candidate.
"The DNC and its liberal henchmen in the press..."??? Come on people. While I agree that the Newsweek cover was needlessly unflattering, this article sounds like a partial transcript from a FOX News broadcast. Glass houses.
