He met Horobin when One Direction appeared on Manchester radio station Key 103 last August. According to Metro UK, afterwards, they exchanged messages via Twitter and Facebook.
After the boy band was interviewed by Lucy again once month later, the two allegedly spent a night together at a Manchester hotel.
An insider said the DJ's marriage was going through a rough patch at the time.
'Harry just happened to be in the right place at the right time. He charmed his way into her life and brought a little bit of excitement with him,' said the source.
'Lucy was confused about her feelings for her husband. They were still living in the same house but not actually living as a couple.
'Then, when things fizzled out with Harry, she realized she had made a stupid mistake.'
The DJ now works for Heath South Coast. She apparently told her husband about the affair and they are back together.
'She knows she shouldn't admit it but said the sex was amazing. He knew exactly what he was doing despite the fact he was only 17,' said a friend.
'He's adorable and Lucy had a lot of fun. But it was never going to be anything serious. It was a mistake.'
Friends of Styles said that he believed Lucy was separated from her husband when it happened.
