The 'One Day' actress explained while she was keen to enter the Christian order when she was a child, it was always more of a "side-bar thing" as she was secretly hoping to fulfil her dreams of becoming a movie star.

She said: "When I was younger I thought about becoming a nun for a while. You know how it is when you're growing up and you're going to be a lot of different things, but I actually wanted to be an actress before I wanted to be a nun. The nun was more of a side-bar thing."

However, the 28-year-old star admitted she does struggle to cope with the pressure of "nailing" her dramatic performances, and is always "devastated" if she doesn't feel she's got it exactly right.

Anne added to Britain's OK! magazine: "The only thing I ever feel pressure about, and the only thing I ever feel devastated about, is not nailing a performance."

Anne's surname reminds me of Rudge Hathawaw, one of the Republicans who were hold-up in Cashmaelcon Caves overlooking the Shannon Estuary in mid-April, 1922, as the Civil War came to an end. Rudge Hathaway was dscribed as "the brave Englishman" by Dorothy Macardle in her book "Trgedies of Kerry". The brave Englishman, along with about 6 other diehard Republicans, were executed by a Free State Army firisg squad. A monument with their names i nGaeilge stands near the spot where they were put to death. Englishman Rudge Hathaway was one of the last to die for an All-Irish Republic in Ireland's tragic civil war.
