Roy Keane admitted that Ipswich’s failed to do enough to score against Reading in Tuesday’s challenge. He admitted he was not sure is his team deserved to win.

As both sides were reduced to ten men, Simon Church scored the winner for Reading in his first minute on the pitch after coming off the bench.

Speaking about the defeat Keane said: ‘I am not sure we deserved to win. Anyone who knows anything about football knows that if you don't put the ball in the back of the net then trust me you are going nowhere fast.

‘We didn't play bad but if you don't get goals you will not win. Our leading scorer got eight goals last season and if that happens again we are in trouble.

‘I do think our strikers need a little more to work from as well. It's a team game and we all have to do better.

‘I have been in enough games where it's nip and tuck at the end and with five minutes to go the home team win.

‘We should have done better against the set piece that led to the goal and we were slow to get out.

‘I thought our red card was coming. The referee was quite quick to send him off but I have no complaints.

‘The back four have done well because Reading are good going forward. We now have a couple of suspensions but don't worry, we can get 11 out for the next game.’
