Rory McIlroy is leading the prestigious Memorial PGA Tour event in Ohio, America.

Rory McIlroy, Ireland's newest golf ace, shot an impressive first-round 66 and is currently level par halfway through his second round.

McIlroy clearly loves the Muirfield Village course and all the more so after his blistering opening round.

"It's a great way to start," McIlroy told Today's Golfer.

The 22-year-old Irishman is currently leading the big name field as the tournament reaches the halfway stage.

Chris DiMarco returned to form with a 67 and Steve Stricker and Rickie Fowler are very close behind.

Meanwhile the World Number One Luke Donald, fresh from winning at Wentworth less than five days ago, is also in the field and is in contention at two under - four off the lead.
