Fighting Irish Coach Brian Kelly has given the green light to his Sophomore to play on Saturday

Much to the relief of his teammates and the Notre Dame Nation we are happy to report that Everett Golson will be making his first start for the blue and green on Saturday in Norman, Oklahoma, three weeks since he sustained a concussion against Stanford.

He passed the physical exertion tests administered yesterday with flying colors and is ready to suit up against the No.8 Oklahoma Sooners that await him in Norman, Oklahoma in what could be the most important game of his career and for the No.5 7-0 Fighting Irish this season.

Golson has played rocky and uneven at times but his coach feels that he is up to the challenge. Kelly feels that Golson made a handful of terrific plays before his untimely exit against the Cardinals in week 6.

The Fighting Irish can rest assured knowing that Junior backup Tommy Rees is available to clean up Golson’s mess if necessary, as he has done three times this season so far and counting. Also the underutilized and underrated QB Andrew Hendrix is also ready to go.
