Irish midfielder Niall McGinn has stated that he has no intention of leaving Glasgow Celtic and aims to fight for a place on the first team.

With the January transfer window now open, the former Derry City star has been linked with a move south to former Irish manager Mick McCarthy’s Wolves, but McGinn, who has scored twice for the Bhoys this season, wants to stay where he is.

''I'm 22 years old and I hope to remain at Celtic for as long as I can. This is where I want to be. I'm really enjoying the experience. Yes, I've heard and read the speculation about other clubs interested in signing me,” McGinn told the Daily Express.

''But I want to continue to improve as a player and I've no interest in going anywhere else. My target at Celtic is to secure a place in the first team and play every week.''
