Star quarterback Jimmy Clausen was involved in a fight outside a South Bend, Indiana bar called CJ's after his team's loss to Connecticut on Saturday night.

Clausen was left with "at least one black eye" according to a Chicago Tribune report after he was punched in the face. The incident happened outside the bar at 2.30 a.m according to a local radio station.

Clausen was at the bar with his family after Notre Dame's last home game according to a bartender at CJ's. The team had suffered a devastating loss to Connecticut.

While no police report was filed after the incident, the latest news will once again raise questions about Clausen who is expected to declare for the NFL draft rather than play his senior year at
Notre Dame.

He was cited by police in 2007 for transporting alcohol as a minor and later appeared in a "eer Olympics" calendar despite being under the legal drinking age.

However, he is said to have matured in recent years and was made co-captain of the team by his mentor and coach Charlie Weis.

Clausen himself said recently that he felt he had matured and changed " "I feel I've grown as a person off the field and on the field," Clausen said "It's something that, you know, I was looking forward to coming out of high school, just how am I going to change on the field and off the field. "It's pretty spectacular to see where I've come from."

When Clausen was named one of four team captains in August, Weis said he saw "a significant change from when he walked in the door." "I don't force leadership. It's just how they vote,"
Weis said at the time. "The fact that they picked a quarterback as one of the leaders of the team, the guy that has got the ball in his hands every play ... that's usually a very good thing."

Despite the team's poor record this year Clausen has played very well. He has thrown for 3,382 yards and 23 touchdowns with just four interceptions.

I think Jimmy should protect himself better in the Pubs after the games or have more buddys around him so fans like that can;t sucker punch him if ND has a bad game. Jimmy I beleave is playing the best he can .And one more year at ND will Enhance his abilities as a QB for the pros.
