Peter Kavanagh (29) was born and raised in Dublin, Ireland. A communications and advocacy specialist, he currently works for Active Retirement Ireland - a national network of older peoples groups that aim to provide older people with opportunities to enjoy a full and healthy life. He also works as an expert in Social Protection for pan-European NGO network AGE Platform.

Peter grew up in Clondalkin, where he is heavily involved in the local community. He works with Irish-language organisation Muíntir Chrónáin in his spare time and is also player-manager of the Irish Baseball 'B' League Champion Dublin City Hurricanes.
A former translator, journalist, actor, teacher, and tour guide, Peter studied Irish and German in NUI Maynooth before deciding to embark on a career that required neither. He is currently back in part-time education, as he is studying Social Gerontology (that's the study of ageing) in Galway at the weekends.
A self-confessed foodie, Peter enjoys the good things in life, including good food, good beer and good company. He enjoys sports and politics and loves a good friendly argument.
