The 'X Factor' USA judge, who is rumored to be dating her on-again/off-again boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama again, claims she is already yearning to settle down but knows it isn't the right time.

The 'Heart Attack' singer told the December/January issue of Latina magazine: "I'm a Texas girl, so my instinct is to have babies early. In my heart I'm like, 'Okay, it's time to have babies!' But it's not. I have so much life ahead of me that I actually have to slow my roll. We'll see where my life is in 5 years, but I definitely see myself as a mom in 10."

The brunette beauty also hinted that she hasn't given up on her relationship with former 'That 70s Show' star Wilmer, 33, because he is her best friend.

She said: "I look for someone who makes me laugh. Because 20, 30 years from now, sometimes the spark fades, but when you're with someone who's your best friend - that's what makes a relationship last."

Lovato, who previously sought treatment in rehab for an eating and self-harming disorder, celebrated her 21st birthday in Kenya with her mother and a few friends after flying there with Canadian-based charity Free The Children, which works internationally to empower and enable youth to be agents of change. She was eager to prove she didn't need to have a party.

She said: "I noticed that there's this perception on turning 21, that you have to go out and get drunk. It's different for me because I'm in recovery. I also want to set an example for others. You don't have to booze it up, you can do something else."
