"American Idol" judge Simon Cowell changed the life of five-year-old Bethany Fenton in England.

Bethany was unfortunately diagnosed with a tumor in the brain last year and surgeons said it was impossible to remove it as of the depth of it's location in the brain. It was growing outwards.

Bethany underwent rounds of chemotherapy but the growth of the tumor has not slowed.

Bethany who has been super ill had one wish; to meet her idol Simon Cowell and this wish was granted on Saturday last.

Simon met Bethany backstage before "Britain's Got Talent" finale and Bethany sang ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star,” then told a ‘Knock-Knock’ joke to the reality judge.

Interviewed at the show, Bethany was clearly loving her day;

“It was the most wonderful day of my life and I’m so happy. The hotel was awesome and all the people were so friendly. And the food was yummy.”

Her father Sean, 41, also remembers the day with some pride;

“The highlight was meeting Simon Cowell, who was a true gentleman, joking with Bethany and listening intently as she sang to him,” he told Fox.

“Amanda Holden gave the family a cake each and told jokes to Bethany. She was such a nice lady.”

Bethany died Tuesday morning.

Her parents were too upset to talk to reporters at their home in Gloucestershire, in the south-west of England, but a close friend summed it all up;

“Sean thinks that in some curious way she held on so she could achieve her dream,” explains Robin Thompson.
