Martin McGuinness

The new royal prince has finally made his debut, and many pols across Northern Ireland are celebrating the birth of Baby Cambridge.

But Martin McGuinness, the North’s deputy first minister, feels that all the little ones born on July 22 should be celebrated, not just what’s-his-name.  When asked by the media for his reaction to the royal birth he replied, “"I extend warmest best wishes to all parents and new babies born today. God bless them."

Irish Taoiseach (Prime Minister) Enda Kenny offered his congrats to Prince William and his wife Kate, but 31 years ago, when Wills was born, the situation was different. The Irish government received some bad publicity for not wishing Charles and Di well when William made his debut.  How times have changed!
