Bill O'Reilly: Uneasy lies the head that wears the talk show crown

IrishCentral.com Poll

Should Glenn Beck run for political office?

Hell yes! Bring it on Glenn

Good grief no. He's an entertainer not a politician

Bill O'Reilly is said to be deeply displeased that Sean Hannity got to interview Sarah Palin before him.

He was reported to have had a " hissy fit" when Hannity got the first interview.

The Hannity exclusive has caused a rift among the two men who have dominated the conservative talk circuit for several years now.

O'Reilly is also said to be upset that Glenn Beck is closing in in the ratings.

Beck came in second in a Harris poll on people's favorite TV news personality behind Oprah.O'Reilly came in at No. 10.

Worse for O'Reilly is the fact that Beck finished as No 1. with people who identified themselves as conservatives and Republicans.

Does this mean that Old Bill is slipping? Hardly, he is still the No. 1 rated show -- but it was clear from their Long Island appearance that O'Reilly and Beck do not have good body language together.

When Beck knelt to the floor thanking God for the Massachusetts Senate victory, O'Reilly looked like he'd rather have been anywhere else.

To his credit he doesn't do the same kind of histrionics which in a hot-medium may not work for him in the long run.

So uneasy lies the head that wears the crown. Hannity however, is another matter.

The talk at Fox is that he is still mulling a political career. Now that would put the cat among the pigeons.

It's good to have some conservative Irish American brawlers in the political msm arena for a change. A refreshing change of view, yes truth can be abrasive to some when it is not clothed in velvety phrases.
Conservatives don't consider O'Reilly a conservative. He is all over the map. Advocating that people watch CNN for for the truth is laughable. If you really want to see which network's reports are closer to what is actually happening, try watching CSPAN and compare what you see with what CNN and Fox report. CNN's spin is dizzying. donal, you do realize that O'Reilly, Hannity and Beck are commentators and not news reporters, right? Their opinions are not supposed to be balanced, they are supposed to tell us what they think. They don't claim to be anything but commentators. Americans who love freedom and reject the socialism creeping into our society are thankful for Fox News. You only get Progressive cheerleading on the other networks.
As much I disagree with Bill, Glen is just a drama queen that reminds me of Pee-wee.
The search for fractures in the armor of the Fox / Right Wing / Tea Bagger Complex is not relevant to any good reporter's or good readers' interests, really ....
TomDegan Your comments are spot on. FoxNews manipulates the older population with weekly stories of fear of government and panders to the bigots with smears. Those who don't agree, turn on CNN for one week and see the difference yourself.
TomDegan The only demise facing America is, "IF" we go down the path of Socialized Medicine. That is what makes America different. We don't want this and I want to thank FoxNews for their part in opening our eyes to the agenda of the White House. Thank You Thank You Thank you FoxNews !
