Fears are growing over the wellbeing of a 19-year-old woman who went on a ‘spiritual quest’ into the wilderness, wearing only a fanny pack.

Maureen Kelly was last seen by friends at around 5pm Sunday June 9th at the Canyon Creek Campground in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest in southwest Washington State. The teenager reportedly told her friends she was going on a "spiritual quest" into the woods alone.

Her fanny pack contained a knife, a compass and a few other items. A friend reported Kelly missing just after midnight Monday.

For over a week the Skamania County Sheriff's Department with the help of over 70 volunteers crews have been trying to find Kelly. Her brother said although she was comfortable in the outdoors, she was not as prepared as he would have liked
