Filming began on Monday in Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford on "Brooklyn," the screen adaptation of Colm Tóibín’s popular novel.

Hometown girl Saoirse Ronan stars, and apparently it was chilly enough on set as she made good use of a hot water bottle! The film also features Jim Broadbent, Julie Waters and Domhnall Gleeson, and is due for release next year.

“This is where Colm is from, he’s one of our well-loved sons so we’re delighted his film is being shot here,” one local told the Irish Independent.
