Vancouver residents have complained that Irish Olympic visitors are too noisy. Local authorities have received more than two-dozen complaints about noisy Irish revelers.

Locals are worried that the Irish antics will detract from the Games,  which  officially start this Friday.

The Irish have established a base in Doolins venue in Vancouver and according to locals it is: "essentially a giant pub under a thin sheet of plastic with ridiculously loud live bands."

Local residents told The Province newspaper that the music did not stop until 2 a.m., and neighbors were deprived of their sleep all night.

Vancouver's chief licensing inspector Barbara Windsor said that the noise would get worse when more fans arrive this weekend. Windsor said that Doolins have agreed to reduce the noise levels this weekend.

Ireland has a team of six competing in the Winter Olympics.
