The Irish Lobby for Immigration Reform is holding an immigration update meeting in New York on Thurs., April 15.

President Ciaran Staunton said the meeting was being held to spell out
the options available to the Irish.

"We're expecting plenty of tough questions," he said, "and we're
 prepared to answer them."

The ILIR, like many other immigrant advocacy organizations has been working the U.S Congress and Senate since the collapse of the 2007 bill.

Staunton has spent much of the spent much three years criss-crossing the U.S. organizing Irish American community leaders in many states to help lobby for the Irish.

The ILIR's tireless grassroots outreach work paid off earlier this year when the White House invited 80 Irish American leaders from around the USA to ask for their input and help on passing Immigration reform.
