The town of Newtownards in County Down is reeling from the news that a vicious rapist attacked a 76-year-old woman in her bedroom.

Locals have been shocked by the assault, the second rape in the town in two months.

Neighbors told the press that the victim, who is now recovering from her terrifying attack with family, will probably never return to her home.

The 76-year-old was attacked as she waited for a visit from her carers, who regularly check in with the elderly woman.

Her attacker is believed to have gained entry to her home through a rear window and fled when he heard the carers arrive at the house.

Local DUP minister Jim Shannon told the press that the community was united in its utter revulsion at the attack.
