Fahsionista Sarah Jessica Parker attended a private memorial service in London on Monday to pay tribute to fashion icon Alexander McQueen.

Jessica Parker, joined by Vogue editor, Anna Wintour, Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell and Rachel Weisz, said it was an “honor and great regret” that she was given an opportunity to remember the designer who took his own life last February.

"I would have loved to see what he would do next," she said.

Wintour also remembered McQueen as "a complex and gifted young man."

"His final collection was a battle between dark and light. His was an 18-year career of harnessing his dreams and demons," she said.

"He showed us everything was possible; dreams could become reality. But he has left us with an even more exceptional legacy, a talent that soared like the birds of his childhood above us all."

Bjork performed for the ceremony and sang “Gloomy Sunday”- a song associated with suicide.

McQueen, 40, died 11 February 2010.

He was found hanged that morning in his wardrobe by his housekeeper at his home on Green Street in London.

Paramedics were called and they pronounced him dead at the scene.
McQueen died days before London Fashion Week, though he was not scheduled to show and nine days after the death of his mother, Joyce, 75, from cancer.

He was remembered in March on what would have been his 41st birthday by a number of prominent New York-based designers, including Diane von Furstenberg, Michael Kors, Zac Posen and Calvin Klein's Francisco Costa.

The Alexander McQueen label lives on under the creative direction of Sarah Burton.
