Troubled star Lindsay Lohan is due to begin her jail sentence at the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, California, just south of downtown Los Angeles.

It's not her first time in the location. Lohan served 84 minutes at the Lynwood facility in 2007 for a drunken driving offense. That time she was searched, fingerprinted and placed in a holding cell but allowed to keep wearing her street clothes.

This time, Lohan will be housed in the 2,200-bed facility's special needs unit, where she'll live in isolation for her own safety. Other celebrities who have been housed at the jail include Paris Hilton (for reckless driving), Daryl Hannah (for a peace demonstration), Nicole Richie and Khloe Kardashian (for drunken driving charges).

Because of overcrowding and time credited to her for good behavior, Lohan may serve just 25 percent of her sentence, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department spokesman Steve Whitmore told the press.

That means Lohan could be out of jail in time for the premiere of 'Machete,' the action-thriller opening on September 3 that stars Lohan as a nun.
