They've been friends and occasionally rivals for decades and now film directors John Boorman and Neil Jordan are in pre-production for their co-written effort Broken Dream, a feature film they originally penned together in the late 1970's.

The film is scheduled to begin shooting in Eastern Europe in September with both Ben Kingsley and John Hurt rumored to star.

The Boorman/Jordan project was originally gearing up to shoot in 1993 starring River Phoenix, but the production came to an end following the troubled young actor’s untimely death.

Broken Dream is described as a love story that’s set in a futuristic world.

Further cast and crew members are yet to be confirmed and producers hope that at least some of the feature will be shot in Ireland, possibly on location in County Wicklow.
