Daniel Day Lewis, Nicole Kidman, Sophia Loren and Penelope Cruz are on location in Italy shooting the film version of the hit Broadway musical "Nine," which has actually been in production since last year. The English/Irish Day Lewis plays the sole male lead, an Italian film director going through a midlife crisis via a whole bunch of women, including a wife, a mistress and a muse. Recent Oscar winner Marion Cotillard and singer Fergie are also down as co-stars. The film is set for a Thanksgiving Eve release, so there must be high hopes of Oscar glory. Given DDL's stellar record in collecting golden statuettes that's not a surprise, but let's hope the Curse of Kidman doesn't strike. She hasn't starred in a hit film in years, with her latest, "Australia," being the latest in a string of critical and commercial flops.
