“I’m not going to apologize for the fact that I’ve been able to get things done for New York,” Quinn said Wednesday during an appearance on CNN adding, “Sometimes you have to push hard.”
The New York Times report accused the Irish American of being volatile and hot tempered. Suggesting she had repeatedly threatened “to slice off the private parts of those who cross her.”
The Irish American told CNN the claims were exaggerated.
"I have big emotions and I care deeply about delivering for New Yorkers and sometimes that means you got to push things forward–and I think New Yorkers know that. This is a tough town."
“I’ve always said I’m a pushy broad and I’ve always said I want to get thing done,” she added on MSNBC.
Quinn, the Democratic favorite for the mayoral race, said that her job isn’t “to make people smile.”
“I’m an aggressive woman who gets things done and that’s the way it is,” she said. “I’ve never been embarrassed about the fact that I am pushy.”
