Occasional adversaries Bill O’Reilly and David Letterman appeared to have agreed on one issue at least during Thursday night’s broadcast of the “Late Show” --- the U.S. invasion of Iraq.

In a rare display of on-screen camaraderie, the agreement was then followed by a momentous high-five between the pair.

After Letterman argued that the Iraq War had turned the country into a “hotbed of terrorism,” O’Reilly agreed it was a regrettable action.

“I think that that was something that should not have happened in hindsight,” O’Reilly said.

“But I will say that I supported it because all the reportage was that Saddam Hussein did have these weapons.”

The “O’Reilly Factor” host still took some convincing, however, as Letterman sprung from his chair and called for a celebratory high-five.

“I’m not gonna high-five you over a war,” O’Reilly explained. “We’re having a good conversation, sit down.”

After an awkward moment of silence, O’Reilly finally gave in.

Thursday night saw the two talk-show hosts in a much friendlier exchange than some of their previous ones.

In 2009, Letterman told O’Reilly, “I think of you as a goon,” and in 2006 he told him that “about 60 percent of what you say is crap.”
