An Irish organization with 651 Facebook followers is a branch of the same organization that Norwegian mass killer Anders Behring Breivik subscribed to.

The Irish Defence League says on Facebook it is “part of the international defence league movement of peaceful resistance to the Islamification of the Europe we love.”

The Norwegian, Anders Behring Breivik killed at least 93 in a bomb attack and hunting down and killing youths at a government sponsored summer school on a nearby island.

According to Reuters the 32-year old mass murderer calls himself “a crusader against a tide of Islam “ in a 1,500-page online manifesto, that he released.

He called his actions “atrocious but neccessary.”

The Irish site has a blogger named’ Gates of Vienna’ a title recalling a siege by Muslim forces on that city in 1683 that was repulsed. The killer quoted from the same blog which is by a Swedish extremist.

The organization differs fromm Neo Nazis in that it avidly supports Jews and the Israeli state, but despises Islam and countries that are Muslim. Its Facebook page is full of widgets supporting Israel and ads for anti -Islam books.

The blog cites Mark Humphrys,a Dublin-based anti-Islamist, who stated the Norwegian killer was not a racist.

“The killer was right-wing and anti-jihad, yes, but he was not a neo-Nazi (he was pro-Israel) or a white supremacist (he opposed the BNP because they are racist). He was Christian, but not a fanatic (he was pro-gay).

In fact he was apparently like me — liberal right. He was anti-racist, pro-gay and pro-Israel. So how on earth did someone like that become a terrorist against the West?”

This article is a bunch of lies. It has some of the worst research I have ever seen on the Internet. I am not a member of the IDL. I never even heard of them before I started reading this article. I am not a member of Gates of Vienna. They linked to my site. (Does the journalist know what a hyperlink is?) The American site Gates of Vienna has no connection to the IDL. The IDL did not even link to them - this too is false. You write an article on the Irish Defence League, and the only human actually quoted is me - someone who's never even heard of the Irish Defence League! Almost everything in this article is a lie, as I explain on my site here: IrishCentral slanders me markhumphrys.com/norway.attacks.html#irishcentral
There are muslim members of the masonic lodge
Despising heretics, rending the apostate, martyring for Islamic causes, aren't "radical". They're fundamentalist, but so is peaceably tending to your own life and minding your own business, giving to the needy and teaching through education instead of violence. In terms of community goals, there isn't that much different in Islam and Christianity, Judaism, or Buddhism. Notice I didn't mention some other religions or fraternal Orders because in nine years of homelessness those are the only religions I've come across who are actively giving food or clothing to the homeless. So, what sets apart the actions of some (mostly now dead) Muslims, actions that currently have the world in a furor, isn't "radical", it's extremist. Breivik, psychotic or not, was also an extremist. He wasn't a "radical", either: he situated his actions firmly in the center of his fundamental beliefs. And, in his mind, it takes extreme action to meet extreme action. And, considering his intent was to scare and shock the communities and governments of all Europe into behaving as he wishes, I would say that makes him a terrorist according to our modern definition. Despite all of this, I don't see how you can link Breivik back to the "Irish Defense League" when the link actually goes in the other direction. The headline should've read, "Irish Defense League linked to same political movement as several of Noway shooter Breivik's affiliations". Not only would that be more correct and therefore more informative, but it would spare a lot of Irish people the spike in blood pressure.
Masonic believers view themselves pro israel as do the Northern Ireland Orange boys. This masonic norwegian crazy has netted the world's problem out as to being a struggle between Zionism and Islam. I'll bet such thoughts will be controlled, kept at bay or spun with fill-ins of ridicule.
zionist and proud it seems is the nutcase and his lemming fellows. The ripple of treating others badly, flares here and there - this needs a full airing to enable us sheep be aware of our fate.
This man was in no way a Christian. Christ said to love they enemies, not ruthlessly slaughter innocent children. What he is, is sick, souless, and evil incarnate. The only group he belonged to was the group of voices in his depraved head. May they continue to torment him for the rest of his days.
Most of us can agree that Breivik is a right-wing, Islamophobic lunatic who planned this mass slaughter meticulously over several years. If indeed anything can be more appalling than this it is that this merciless killer may well be out on the street at age 53, having had 21 years to plan his next horror. For the record, according to 2009 stats Europe's population is about 5% Muslim, meaning that 95% is non-Muslim. Highest Muslim populations are in France 6%, Germany and Switzerland about 4.5% each, Greece and Britain about 3% each, Denmark 2%, Norway 1% and most others less than 1%. Note: Ireland is at one half of one percent (.05%). Point: Europe is hardly being invaded or over-run by Islam. That said, I do believe that radicalIslam (the fanatics who profoundly believe that the infidel must be converted and that Sharia law supersedes any national law) is a threat to Western Civilization and must be confronted and defeated.
It is a cowardly act for an armed person to shoot dead unarmed persons and killing an unborn child is also a cowardly act.
No matter what his political leanings are, what he did was sick and wrong. Political views don't justify his acts. Condolences to the friends and families of those lost.
What is so bad about being anti-Islamic? Islam is a primitive and barbaric religion whose members consider it honorable to murder their own daughters.
Brievik is a right wing, anti muslim, christian fundamentalist,a card carrying member of Norways opposition conservative party. He most probably had links with other groups. It now transpires that he met members of the BNP in london. He is a good norwegian anti liberal teahadist.
I think it is important to distinquish between groups of individuals who are engaged in guerrilla warfare and make up for numerical deficiency by using terror tactics, and individuals whose warped minds lead them to believe they are acting toward a political goal. People like Timothy McVeigh, the Unibomber fit in the latter group. While Al Quaida exemplifies the former.Guerrilla warfare does work. Think about how the train station bombing in Madrid convinced the Spanish to back away from the war in Iraq. But, at least from what we know so far, this man seems to be a loner.
this individual has been charged with "acts of terrorism ".not surprising...
Leave it to Irish Central to find some way to link this hideous Norwegian criminal to the Irish.
Terrorism is a strategy, not a goal. It can be employed but all sorts of groups or even an individual to frighten people into submission and hopefully support their goal. It seldom works, unless those impacted by the terror go too far in the opposite direction by sacrificing their own liberties which then can actually help the terrorists achieve their goals.
