Irish American Congressman Peter King has told of his shock at seeing former Long island resident and constituent Samir Khan get blown away in Yemen as part of an Al Qaeda leadership group.

“I’ve seen the video. I saw him get in the vehicle with al-Awlaki. Yes, surveillance video. You don’t associate with the number one terrorist in the world unless you’re a terrorist yourself, and he is by his own statements,” Rep. King said.

“Obviously, the U.S. was his Satan. He was obviously very radical,” King told WCBS 880 reporter Sophia Hall.

“By the time he got out of high school, that was after September 11th. The magazine he put out every month was monitored very, very carefully by the FBI and the CIA and was considered extremely dangerous and extremely threatening to the United States.”

“A young man who had all the benefits of suburban life, but yet, whatever happened to him to radicalize him, he was a terrorist living in our midst.”

“The parents tried everything to steer him in the right direction, counseling. Unfortunately, this man was on the wrong path,” said Habeeb Ahmed of the Islamic Center of Long Island.

“He chose to turn his back on his country. He chose a violent approach and I think he deserved what he got,” Westbury resident Gene Semelrath told WCBS.

This coming from a man who supported the IRA and the RIRA. Priceless.
Easy there Pete ...we all have one or two Muslim Terrorists we can love.
Good riddance is a right word but terrorism is found everywhere and reminds me of a fifth columnist during WW II. For those to young to remember or didn't pay attention in history class a fifth columnist is a person born in a country but whose allegiance is elsewhere. I am sure there are American islamic terrorists and the incident at Ft. Hood comes to mind. I think this country needs to get rid of the radical imans and send them back. America is taking away many of its own citizen's rights, why can't they do this?
Sorry the good congressman is always on the look-out for a headline. His advocacy on behalf of Irish extremists used to be his cause celebre until 9/11 - then it seems it was circumspect to be on the side of the 'good guys'. Where next Congressman?
Peter King is great. However at one time, he was an Irish extremist. He appears to sympathize with Muslim extremists for this reason. Irish revolutionaries, from an Irish American Navy vet point of view had legitmate gripes against the Brits. Muslim radicals want a world wide caliphate. There are no parallels.
The good congressman is always stunned by Islamic extremism, but seems to be unaware of any cases of Christian extremism.
Good riddance.
