Back in November IrishCentral reported that an Irish American tourist believed she saw Jesus in the Cliffs of Moher and now a 19-year-old from County Laois swears that the bruise on his thigh is an apparition of the Lord.

Joe.ie reports that Martin Carroll studies primary school teaching in Marino, North Dublin. This bruise was the result of a nasty wallop during a hurling clash.

Do you believe that this is Jesus or simple the result of a smash with a hurl?

@jacersagain - you're right. Very few people have a realistic idea of how Jesus likely looked. He was a Jew and probably had swarthy skin, brown eyes, and features common to Jewish people of that time period and wasn't the fair-skinned, light haired, blue-eyed, gentile-featured man that is so often depicted.
ihave anumber of blotches on my body. they look like an excess of blood vessels near the surface..........I forget the medical name, but it sure isn't "Jesus".................Some people will believe anything at all, thanks to mytheology.
Well - it is a face - the question is - is it Jesus? and why?
BTW - In one of the visions to Sr. Faustina in Milan, Italy, on 20th April 1968, Christ said “Thank you for the distribution of My Sacred Image. I will bless the families who expose my Image in their homes and I will convert all sinners who live there...” On 5th September 1968, Christ said to Sr. Faustina “Whoever venerates with love and devotion in his home My Divine Image will be preserved from chastisement, in the same way as the ancient Hebrews marked their houses with a cross made with the blood of the Pascal Lamb and were spared by the Exterminating Angel, so it will be in these sad times for those who will have honoured and exposed My Image”. I leave the rest to you all to wonder and hopefully find belief in Christ. Even you atheists and agnostics, God bless yez!
Scotchtommy is right in that there’s no description of Jesus in the Bible. But scientists have posited a description: that He was 5’6” in height, medium length possibly curly hair, stubbly beard, and brown eyes, round head and face, pointy nose. The popular images of Christ we have solely come from the imagination of artists and their posing models of by-gone ages and have nothing whatsoever to do what He actually looked like. One image in a very early Christian basilica shows Christ such that if you drew a line down the middle of the face, through the centre of the nose, Christ has two "faces", particularly seen in the eyes – one side looking kindly, the other looking very sternly at the viewer. The modern images, such as that above this article, are drawn from descriptions by those who claim to have had a vision of Christ - the above one is that by Sister Faustina in the late 1960s. One thing we can all be sure of: Christ was bruised black and blue before His Crucifixion, even on His thighs!
Just a trifle premature? April fool's day is a still two weeks away.
God forbid I should mock anyone's beliefs but there is a slight snag in all this in that the Scriptures do not conatin a single word describing what Our Lord looked like.We don't know if he was short or tall.Fat or thin.Had a beard or not.Short hair ,long hair, or bald.So where are all these apparitions coming from?
Irish1798, it wasn't Jesus'fault people died in his name. he didn't ask for that. He knew they would but that's not what he wanted. Plus that bruise looks nothing like Jesus; it just looks like an ink blot.
Yeah....right. Religion is what got a lot of my Irish ancestors killed, so I'd rather not have a Jesus on my thigh or any other place.
Absolute proof of divine intervention. This has converted me and I have been an atheist for 53 years. Yeah...right.
I can just about see the significance of Jesus putting his face on a mans thigh. That should convert millions.
