A fire broke out at the Guinness factory in Dublin shortly after noon local time on Monday.  Over nine fire brigades and three rigs with aerial ladder platforms were able to contain the blaze before it spread to the ammonia plant at the site.

An official from Guinness was able to confirm that no one was hurt in the incident.

“There were no injuries to any personnel and the fire has been extinguished,” the spokeswoman said.

“An internal investigation is under way to find out exactly what the cause of the accident was.”

The fire broke out near the Victoria Quay entry to the factory, and locals in the area are being advised to keep their windows closed due to the amount of smoke in the air.

The blaze is believed to have started when felt on a roof that was being repaired by workmen caught on fire

No one was injured. The fire is thought to have been started by a laborer repairing the roof. Please lets not sensationalize news any more than it already is.

Another agressive fire attack from the lads of the Dublin Fire Brigade. You make your Firefighting Brothers 'across the pond' proud. Safe All!!!!!
'Tis like the Vatican burned down!!! Jesus, take the wheel!
It's a damn shame, glad no one was injured.
As the Brewery is now the property of one of the largest Monopolies on the Earth who cares if it burns to the ground Diago has deep pockets, They probably couldn't get planning permission for some modification so up it went.
You spelled "Guiness" wrong ...
My Goodness! My Guinness - is saved for Christmas & New Year! (Thanks be to God the two hurt firemen are ok; they were reportedly overcome by chemical fumes). BTW - Guinness announced this evening that the fire will not affect supplies, so *note to self, Jacers* no need for panic-buying!
