An Irish woman who murdered her mother’s boyfriend has proposed to her lesbian lover in jail and intends to wed.

Dubbed the ‘Scissor Sisters,’ Linda Mulhall, 34, and her sister Charlotte, 27, were jailed for the brutal manslaughter of Kenyan immigrant Farah Swaleh Noor in March 2005

The two women were found guilty of butchering their mother’s partner at Richmond Cottage, Ballybough, North Dublin, in 2005. The victim’s headless body was found in Dublin’s Royal Canal. His head was never recovered.

Now, the Irish Mirror reports Linda, a mother-of-four, has popped the question to her girlfriend at Dublin’s Dochas Centre in Mountjoy jail.

A prison source told the Irish Sunday Mirror that Linda is “ecstatic” her girlfriend accepted.
“Linda popped the question a few weeks ago,” the source said.

“The couple had been in Linda’s room all morning and when they came out into the communal area they both had big smiles on their faces.

“She lifted her hand up and showed everyone the ring.

“Linda was standing behind her and gave the thumbs up to let the inmates that were there know that she had said yes to her proposal.

“The two have been dating for a while and are head-over-heels in love with each other.

“Linda told fellow prisoners that she had stuck with tradition and got down on one knee to ask her.

“She wanted to show her commitment to her. She wanted to show her that she is in the relationship with her for the long haul.”

The source added: “Linda is now hoping that they will be given the green light to hold a civil ceremony in the prison.

“They are hoping to do it before the end of the year. It is at the discretion of the Governor whether they can.

“To date there have been plenty of applications for ceremonies in prisons across the country but not many have been given the go-ahead as of yet.

“Linda is hoping to break the mould and change all that.”

The source continued: “The two have been walking around hand-in-hand ever since and are acting like a loved-up teenage couple.

Mum-of-one Charlotte was jailed for life while Linda was sentenced to 15 years for manslaughter.
