Giant Iceland volcano's ash cloud closes Ireland's airports

Guinness PubFinder Ad

A huge volcanic dust cloud emanating from the Eyjafjallajokull volcano eruption in Iceland has effectively closed Irish airports, with all flights canceled until 6am Irish time Friday morning.

Up to 60,000 air passengers in Dublin have been affected by the Irish Aviation Authority's decision to suspend all flights.

The IAA said the possibility of rock particles in the ash air damaging aircrafts and the fact that the dust could shut down engines was too much of a safety risk.

A cloud of dust from a volcanic eruption in Iceland has caused the Irish Aviation Authority to suspend all flights until Friday

Passengers were left frustrated at airports all over the country, and the domino effect of today’s decision to suspend air traffic will see increased delays over the coming days as airports accommodate stranded travelers.

The self-styled 'Visionary' Joe Coleman at Knock Shrine who lives in Dublin is presently huddled under the staircase saying the rosary that the doom and gloom prophesied is on the doorstep.
That is not surprising as he already would like us to kiss his --- !!!
Want to ruin an engine real quick, just operate it in a volcanic ash cloud. If its a car and the engine dies you just pull it over to the side of the road. An aircraft is a different story. I always operate aircraft with the following theory: It is always better to be down here wishing you were up there, rather than being up there wishing you were back down here.
If you too are stuck at the airport like me... here is the culprit! Damn Volcano! http://www.travel-avenue.com/2608986-eyjafjallajokull-unknown-city.html less
More carbon just got belched into the atmosphere by this single volcano than every car ever made or driven, in human history...so, is this the 'end of the world,' going by the rhetoric of the global-warming (oh, excuse me...'climate change') crowd?
