President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will give a joint interview to CBS's 60 Minutes news program scheduled to air on Sunday, the White House announced yesterday.

According to Reuters, the interview, conducted at the White House yesterday, comes as Clinton prepares to step down from her post and as the Senate confirmation process ahead for US Senator John Kerry, who was picked by Obama to be Clinton's successor.

On Wednesday, Clinton strongly defended her handling of the deadly September attack on the US diplomatic mission in the Libyan city of Benghazi, surprising Republican critics with a spirited rebuttal as she denied any effort to mislead the American people.

Conservative commentators watched an opportunity to discredit the administration unravel thanks to Clinton's strong showing, which has renewed speculation if Clinton, who leaves with high public approval ratings, will make another White House run in 2016.

The joint interview will be broadcast at 7PM EST, and will be Obama's first since his inauguration on Monday. It will also be the first time he and Clinton have been interviewed jointly.

More fawning by IC on their leftist democratic icons.
SAD
I look forward to listening to two interesting and articulate individuals.
This probably could not have happened in 2009 when Bush left the scene, since he and Condi would still be arguing about who told whom about the 'mushroom cloud".
So, do we also get to watch them hold hands and dance naked around the mulberry bush at midnight? Also, what about that Iroquois tradition of using the heads of your enemies in a game of field hockey. Does McCain still have his? If so, it won't be long before it's hung on the Brooklyn Bridge as Chrissie Quinn prepares a place for the one that used to be on the shoulders of Ray Kelly.
I think it's great!
I'm sure they'll ask him a lot of hard hitting questions like "What is your favorite color Mr. President?". I thiught this site was supposed to give us info about Ireland, not just posting glowing stories about democrats, while ripping cny conservatives.
I'll make it a point not to watch.
Guess the teleprompter will be just off camera. Interviewer should use a baton. Are we supposed to expect candor and truth here? Doubt it. Just the usual Administration obfuscation and half truths. For purposes of his own non-legacy, BHO, with the usual fawning allies in the media, is trying to put a band-aid on her abominbable "what does it matter" performance before the Congress. An award winning Administration to be sure, he a Nobel for getting elected and she should be a sure bet for an Oscar as Best Actress.
Should read before submit....the work...should be word...
I think that "interview" is the wrong work...attending an awards ceremony would be more appropiate.
