US President Barack Obama has a dependable 'Irish mafia' within the White House to advise him on key international matters, his anti-terrorism chief said this week.

Assistant to the President for Homeland Security and Counter-terrorism, John Brennan, is one of the masterminds behind the assassination of Osama Bin Laden the Herald reports.

President Obama views him as his right-hand man on international relations.

Brennan's father is from County Roscommon and his mother from County Galway. Speaking in Dublin this week Brennan said it was an honor to address the Irish Institute of European Affairs.

'The national security team of Tom Donilon, Denis McDonagh, Mike Mullen, Bill Daley and the Mount Anville - educated Samantha Power are key advisors. They are proud Irish citizens. The 'Irish mafia' we are called in the White House,' Brennan said.

seanomelb only attacks the messenger when he cannot defend the message. Some 'man' you are if you support the killing of preborn children. Talk about 'sad' - It is horrific for grown men to support the killing of innocents and just look on them as a nuisance by-product of irresponsible behaviour.

Where were you when Obama's team killed Osama Bin Laden, got us out of the mess George W Bush started in Iraq, drew down the troops in Afghanistan, kept us safe from domestic terrorist attacks in the US and didn't drag us into dumbass and endless wars with Iran over Israel?

Right on the nail Peggy P. What a 'nice crowd' to have around a 'not so nice' resident in the White House. If he is re-elected may God protect the vulnerable babies of the world, and those who are a 'nuisance' such as the dependable elderly and disabled. With a friend of the Islamic world in the White House, look out America.

What a shame this dependable "Irish Mafia" was not in Benghazi, Libya approx. 6 weeks ago. Maybe they would have kept BO updated on the terror attack. They may have been able to get word to our esteemed "Commander and Chief?" that our Ambassador and 4 other Americans were trying to find him for 7 hours because he wasn't calling them back.

Jodi Kantor should have clued everyone of Irish descent of just where Obama stands with the Irish. They are all lemmings who have jumped off the "Cliffs of Dover". Instead of being the leaders of the Democratic Party, they have become the "toilet paper" of the Marxist left.
