Taking the spotlight once again, Dakota Fanning is set to replace "Lovely Bones" star Saoirse Ronan as the lead in "Effie," Emma Thompson's new film based on the famed Ruskin marriage.

The movie is about the marriage between Euphemia “Effie” Gray (Fanning) and art critic John Ruskin (Greg Wise). Taking place in the 1850's, the movie documents the strained marriage between Ruskin and Effie; he was alledgely disgusted with her looks and made his feelings towards her quite clear. As a result, the marriage is annulled and Effie falls in love with and marries painter John Everett Millais (Tom Sturridge), according to Deadline.com.

Thompson herself will also appear in the movie as Lady Eastlake, who takes Effie under her wing in the wake of her failed and troubled marriage. According to Don Rosenfeld, one of the film's producers along with Andreas Roald, “It’s Emma Thompson’s first original script after doing several fine adaptations, and it gets to the heart of Victorian England. The script for "Effie" was always brilliant, but sometimes these things take time," he said, referencing the long period of rumors of the movie's supposed production.

Production for the movie will begin on October 17th in Scotland, London, and Venice, and will maintain a $10 million budget. Those involved with the film are hoping the film will premier at the 2012 Venice Film Festival.
