The 'wee wifey' that Susan Boyle used to be is gone now.
The 'wee wifey' that Susan Boyle used to be is gone now.

American Idol Judge Simon Cowell admitted on a documentary to be aired in Britain this coming Saturday that he didn't really support "X- Factor" runner up Susan Boyle as she shot to fame.

In an interview on "Piers Morgan's Life Stories," Cowell, known for his crude comments to contestants who appear on "American Idol" and "X-Factor" both in the U.S. and in the U.K. said he initially failed to provide a support system for SuBo when she began to struggle with the pressures of fame.

Cowell admitted he only saw stardom for SuBo, who won the hearts of millions of people around the world with her rendition of a "Time to Say Goodbye," and didn't think about the impact such fame would have the woman who came from a small village in Scotland.

Said Cowell: "I don't think that for one second when I saw that (audition) tape that any of us suddenly went 'What are the repercussions for her.'

"That's when you suddenly realize, 'I haven't thought about this person as a human being.' And it was a real wake up call I've got to tell you."

Cowell, 50, goes on to say how he is often "appalled" at the things he tells contestants.

"There's many, many times where I've watched a show back and I'm absolutely appalled - you do the show, you're not aware of what's happening in the room outside."

He went on: "You know, somebody just said 'My dog Lassie died yesterday,' I'm in a bad mood and, you know, awful, and you see it in that context, it's very, very difficult to watch."

Cowell said he often gets caught up in the vibe of the audience and runs with that. "You become part of a mob and when you watch the show back you realize that you've gone too far," he said.

Susan was on Britian's Got Talent not X factor and she sang I dreamed a dream not Time to say goodbye. Don't think she has ever sung that song. Need to know something about your subject before writing about it.
Antoinette! It's been FOUR days since this article first appeared, and still no correction (X-Factor wrong, BGT right; Time To Say Goodbye wrong, I Dreamed a Dream right). Do you even look back over the comments?
ANTOINETTE KELLY, your dubious writing skills and lack of accuracy you will make you a staff writing star for The Daily Mail! Do you just make this stuff up to fill space?
SUSAN BOYLE has a name and it's no SuBo. This stupid contraction is an insult.
Her name is Susan Boyle, not SuBo!
Girl, you need to find another job! Where facts don't count. Where do you get your info? From a two-year-old?
I agree with Maya2009! Come on Kelly, if you want to be a reporter, get the facts straight!
Susan Boyle didn't sing Time To Say Goodbye (Although I'd l ike to hear her sing that with her golden voice). Susan has come out the other end of it all saying, "It's all settling well on my shoulders now. I'm not the frightened wee lassie I used to be." And as for Simon - the whole experience has caused him to do some soul searching and I think he's come out a better man. I have a lot of respect for him for that.
Written with your usual degree of accuracy Antoinette (eye roll).
Ms Kelly had a few shots to tequila before she typed this article...
Ms. Kelly, You need to get your facts straight. She was BGT runner up and didnn't sing "time to say goodbye" it was "I dreamed a dream." Good grief!!
Antionette or an editor - Really, you should edit this article and upload it again. Getting Susan Boyle's audition song wrong - the one watched by 300 million - and the show she appeared on (BGT not X-Factor) makes the article look really silly.
I think Antoinette must be pulling our chain. I mean there's no way she could get Britain's Got Talent and I Dreamed a Dream wrong. She's followed Susan for too long. I mean, no way. Either pulling our chain or suffering from a flu.....
SUSAN BOYLE IN GOOD OR BAD COMMENTS JUST GO ON IN YOUR DREAMS. MANY PEOPLE BELIEVE WHAT YOU CAN. AND IF THEIR IS SOMETHING THAT YOU CAN'T IT IS JUST BECAUSE NOBODY IS PERFECT EXCEPT GOD.
Simon has, after the initial shock and amazement of what was actually happening to this remarkably talented woman, been very supportive and he and Susan make a great team. And, incidentally, I see absolutely nothing wrong with her showbiz nickname "SuBo", an affectionate term used by many of her fans as well as media. I understand that she, herself, has signed autographs that way.
Susan Boyle was a BGT runner up, not an X-Factor runner up.
Cowell really needs to pay attention to his own words re: his humanity and how he sees people in terms of commodity and not as deeply feeling human beings. I'm glad he has had an epiphany...and please folks, STOP calling her "SuBo". It is totally disgusting - she has a real name, give her her humanity and use her name - Susan.!!!!
Susan auditioned on Britain's Got Talent, not X-Factor, and she sang "I Dreamed A Dream" from Les Mis. As to Simon, I do believe that Susan was a wake-up call for him, just as she has been for a lot of people. Susan has been an inspiration to millions all over the world by having the courage to be just who she is - a lovely, talented and unpretentious Lady who is now successfully living her dream. She is fabulous!
"Time to Say Goodbye???" LOL.
"Time to Say Goodbye," uh what's this Antionette? Y'all know of another audition Susan did in 2009 besides "I Dreamed A Dream"? If so you've got the biggest scoop ever for us SusaFans!!!
