"Harry Potter" Irish actress Evanna Lynch is being viciously attacked by fans of "Twilight" star Robert Pattison after comments she made critical of the Twilight books and the actor.

As first reported by IrishCentral, Lynch made clear she is not a fan of the Twilight series or Pattinson himself. Lynch—who plays Luna Lovegood in the Harry Potter films -- gave an interview to a Danish Web site and was critical of the Twilight series—in particular, sexy vamp Edward Cullen played by Pattinson .

"Get over it," Lynch says of the Bella Swan character in "Twilight." "She's always talking about how beautiful Edward is. Get over it."

As for the Twilight series overall, Lynch says they can’t match the Harry Potter collection. "They are good books but I don’t think they are as fantastic as Harry Potter,” says Lynch. “I don’t think they are that good, and for a time I was a bit, like, anti-Twilight. Everyone said it was the new Harry Potter and I don’t agree”

When our story was picked up by celebrity site Celebuzz this weekend the Twilight fantatics soon hit back.

Hundreds of them   responded and slammed Lynch for her comments, some in deeply offensive terms “Why are her cheeks so gerbil-like? What is she hiding in there? Oh wait, they are full of JEALOUSY.” said “Ames.” “She is pretty ugly. bad actress to so she can shut the hell up” said Gothichick

@ teamcullen - I must honestly say that you need to shut up and be nice to this actress. She is entitled to her own opinion, as are you, and everyone else. And Luna is an important character. She did much more than Edward. Edward just stood there and looked pretty, all the while being a lame boyfriend. ( Just saying. ) (The vampires are hardly real. For real vampires I'd suggest Anne Rice's vampire chronicles.) Twilight will never compare to Harry Potter.

Stop attacking Evanna. I personally agree with her but I'm somewhat a fan of Twilight. Harry Potter is my fave and she has her opinion. Some of my friends hate Twilight and I don't care. Get a life you Evanna haters:)

So, where as I agree to disagree with this actress, she is entitled to her own opinions. So what..she is not a fan of Twilight or Robert Pattinson, who cares? More for all of us Twilight Fans! Not everyone is going to agree on the same thing and if they did this world would be boring. But I am proud to say that I am a Twilight Fan and Robert Pattinson fan and she can keep her dislikes to herself! She isn't important enough to let her opinions affect everyone else anyway..that is where I will leave it.

The books are different, the only thing the same is the supernatural theme. I love the Potter movies and I love the Twilight books. You can't compare the two. I think all the actors are very talented, and it was fun watching the kids that started in Harry Potter grow up to be amazing young adults.

I Love soo Much Evanna and all the cast of the Harry Potter films, and I think she's right, because t's HER opinnion, and you ever wondered why edward shine? For god sake! HARRY POTTER WILL BE AWAYS BETTER THAN Twilight!! J.K.Rowling is a heroine! I love the Harry Potter saga! But, i got NOTHING AGAINST TWILIGH! Evanna is not jealous she just has an opinion, i have friends who dont like twilight and i dont call them ugly. Im a twilight and a HP fan theyre both great books and films :)

teamcullen, you're a moron. Luna Lovegood isn't important? Give me a break. Even though she's a minor character, she's did a lot more than Bella freaking Swan. Evanna is a wonderful actress and a beautiful young lady who shouldn't be ridiculed by idiots like you.

I think Evanna is a fine actress.She's jealous?That's completely absurd.I have read both books and the movies.Guys,I am so sorry,but Kristen Stewart is not a good actress.Evanna is so cute.You are merely commenting of her popularity cause there is nothing else for you guys to comment on.Evanna is far more better than the whole lot of the Twilight cast

This is ridiculous! Evanna is perfectly entitled to her own opinion (which I completely agree with, Twilight is awful) and she could have said so much worse about the series. Of course Evanna is going to take Harry Potter's side in the Twilight vs Harry Potter thing - she was a massively devoted fan before she was even in the films! And all these people making personal comments about Evanna's looks and acting ability are only doing it because they can't come up with a decent counter-arguement. Evanna is a lovely girl who is much more talented than the whole Twilight cast put together - I cringed through every film and Kristen's emotionless performance.

Twilight may be good, but Harry Potter is way better. But that's just my opinion. Evanna had her opinion, and it DOES NOT MATTER that she is in the HP films herself. It DOES NOT MATTER that she isn't a leading role. She has her own opinion; we all do. She, like the rest of us, has freedom of speech. This news just really annoys me, because she deserves to be able to say her own opinion without being attacked by Twilight fans. If Daniel Radcliffe said that he didn't like Twilight, would people attack him? Or would they not, just because he's a bigger role?

WHAT? If Robert Pattinson, who was Cedric Diggory in HP4, can bash Twilight all he wants to, then why can't Evanna do the same? How come when Robert (and Kirsten) bashes Twilight, the fans don't even bat an eye, but when Evanna does it, she gets the shit end of the stick? Doesn't make any sense to me at all. @ teamcullen: Robert and Kirsten hate Twilight as well, you know. Why are they allowed to hate Twilight, but Evanna can't? :|

evanna,look... we dont care about your opinions... the fans dont need you... so take care about your comments... dont forget that twilightfans also can go to the cinema in orden to see the harry potter series.... so think before speak... we also pay your salary....sorry for you, but your caracter in HP is not important... you can not speak about kristen and robert caracters in twilight...yuo dont have the enough power..

I think it's just childish to attack someone who express his/her point of view. Everyone have the right to say that "I just don't love that movie and that book" or "I don't think that guy's handsome". The Vampire fans can say they love the Vampire series, so, why can't Harry Potter fans say they love the Harry Potter series more than vampire? Honestly, I've not interest in vampire love story, and Pattinson's not that handsome in my opinion. Well, you can't force me to love the vampire story nor the actor, just like I won't ask the vampire fans to love the Harry Potter series and the characters, right?

Its unfortunate that she made those comments about a book that so many people enjoy and about an actor who has become popular portraying a character that alot of people have affection for. It just makes her seem small.
