Irish TV star Dermot O’Leary is set to join Simon Cowell in Los Angeles to launch "X Factor" on the Fox network in the U.S.

O’Leary shot to fame as the presenter of "Big Brother’s Little Brother" and the "X Factor" in Britain.

The X Factor has become a world famous show with syndication in Australia, China, Russia, the Netherlands to name but a few.

Now Fox network will take on the show which made mega stars out of people like Leona Lewis.

Simon Cowell has already signed on to bring the show to US screens by 2011 and it seems that O’Leary will fit in well in LA.

“They really seemed to like him. He doesn’t have a strong accent, which helps. Signs are good but the final decision rests with Simon Cowell,” said a friend.

O’Leary has been working in front of the camera since 2001 and he says he's ready to move to a new challenge.

“I’ve been out here looking at work options and having a few meetings. Nothing's come up yet that would mean moving out here. But I'd love to work Stateside."

Other rumors surrounding this big money deal include a position for Irish music mogul Louis Walsh on the US X Factor judging panel. However, some have said that too many foreign celebrities might “be a turn-off” to US viewers.
