Irish actress Saoirse Ronan could be the next Disney ‘Cinderella’
"Grand Budapest Hotel" and "Mary Queen of Scots" star could be en route to finding her Prince Charming
Irish actress Saoirse Ronan is on the short wish list for the upcoming live-action adaptation of Disney’s ‘Cinderella.’
Variety reports on the planning that has begun for the new Disney flick. The young actress is reportedly up against two other foreign actresses, Swedish actress Alicia Vikander and Brit actress Gabriella Wilde, for the lead role in the Disney remake.
Ronan has no doubt been in popular demand since her turn in 2007’s ‘Atonement,’ which scored the then 14 year old an Oscar nomination. Since then she’s worked with Peter Jackson on the critically acclaimed ‘The Lovely Bones,’ and will be starring in ‘The Host,’ set for a March 2013 release.
While Ronan may be in demand for ‘Cinderella,’ it could be her scheduling that makes the final decision. Variety also reports that the actress is working on several projects for the coming months, including Wes Anderson’s "Grand Budapest Hotel" and "Mary Queen of Scots."
