Superstar Gwyneth Paltrow maintains that she keeps her trim figure by drinking a pint of Guinness. The skinny blond actress revealed on Piers Morgan’s CNN show that she really enjoys a pint of the black stuff as part of her beauty regime.

She said she calms her nerves "the Irish way.” Speaking to the “Mirror” newspaper, she commented that the Irish stout only has 200 calories a pint. She said that it helps her to maintain her flawless looks and figure.

Paltrow admitted, "I always have a Guinness before an awards ceremony
"Guinness is my favorite beer. And there’s two other things – blush and a girdle.”

Although she says that she eats and drinks what she wants, she also admits that she puts the hours in at the gym to keep her figure trim.

"I work out a lot. It is tough, but I really throw myself into it," said the mother of two.

Paltrow used to known by dieters around the globe because she stuck to a macrobiotic diet. She said, "Now I eat what I want."

So if Gwenyth Paltrow is anything to go by Guinness is most certainly good for you -- in moderation of course.
