Glenn Beck, the popular talks show host has been dropped by New York’s WOR station.

The station announced it’s intention to drop Beck’s syndicated talk-show from January 17 and replace it with a show presented by Mike Gallagher.

"The reason is ratings," said WOR program director Scott Lakefield. "Somewhat to our surprise, the show wasn't getting what we wanted."

Beck had been viewed as a rising conservative radio DJ with trade magazine Talkers ranking him 3rd on its “Heavy Hundred” list for 2010, just behind Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity.

Jerry Crowley, the general manager of WOR praised Beck’s replacement, saying Gallagher would comment more on local issues.

Gallagher described the new opportunity as a privilege, adding that he looks forward to increasing “ratings and revenue”.

Well, Beck is being dropped from a Philadelphia Station,,,that is extremely conservative,,, and he will be replaced with what I affectionately refer to as a local Wanna be - in addition to that,,, the only successful National Host will no longer be on in the AM and he was of course replaced with another Beck Wanna Be. - My biggest concern, and I made it known several times to a less than open minded Station Manager was that I saw no difference in the three Stooges/Beck/Rush/Glenn and in particular Beck was almost frightening at times. The smug answer was He thought Beck was funny, and if I didn't like it why didn't I turn him off.... MY reply - one I repeat many times is the same,,,, there was a maniac with a Radio Microphone who hated his government/ elitist educations/ Immigrants / those on the dole/ and well you know the rest,,,,, those that remained silent did what I could not do,,,, since that voiced approval. No one knew what a maniac that man was until his Stoolies -- not him were marching thru Poland. Beck is a sick man,,,, and because he now somehow h as assigned himself not only the Patriot Saviour, but the Messiah,,, no one has the courage to call that baby ugly. Good Bye Glenn -- Don't send me any of your Rapture Seeds for my Victory Garden.

Criticizing George Soros is not anti-semitic. The station dropped Beck because they fear Soros, not out of some noble virtuous stance against anti-semitism.

The question for seanomelbourne, irishlassred and RobbCobb is the following: What's the matter... is 'free speech' a right only when libtards exercise it? Watching or listening to Rachel Madcow, the blubbery blow hard Ed Schultz, Keith Olbermouth, and Chris (man-crush-on-oVomit) Matthews is no less offensive. So why don't you hide your envy at the fact that most Americans watch FOX, and put a sock on it while you see your pundits and your favorite channel, PMSNBC bite the dust, because no one them.

Those of you that think that Mr. Beck should be taken off air, are very blind and well deaf. If you actually listen to him instead of bark at every word the man says, maybe you should learn something and gain some IQ points which obviously you are very low on.

Gallagher is another gasbag that is not as offensive to the Jewish population (including right wingers) as Beck was. Of course Gallagher will now tell some moronic caller that you can accomplish anything if you put your mind to it ( and clone yourself after Hannity)

Pittsburghkid, I can't let you slander New York. There are wonderful people there. Probably, the best fire department in the world. New york is much more than Wall Street, which I could understand would attract your ire.

Mike is as conservative as Glenn. Being cancelled from a New York Radio Station is no big deal. New York is not real America. American view New York, the same way people view the part of their body where the sun don't shine. That part is important, but it is not discussed in polite conversation.

If Soros has been 'slandered' libeled or otherwise injured by Beck's purported lies.... why has 'that spooky dude' who has brought several countries' -including England and Russia's- economy to ruin, with all the power, wealth, and political influence he possesses has not sued the living daylights off of a mere 'mediocre disc jockey'?? -- as one mediocre homely gal/person has so wisely described Beck (ya, sure!) --- Could it be because he has NO CASE against him, and the allegations are completely, absolutely and unequivocally true...??? Mmmm.. something to definitely ponder.
