Irish band The Script, often compared to U2, will appear on NBC’s “Today Show” summer concert program on May 21.

The “Today Show” has a long tradition of helping to launch budding musicians’ careers.

Lady Gaga, Christina Aguilera, Katy Perry and Susan Boyle all performed on the program at the beginning of their massive careers in the United States.

The Script has already opened for Sir Paul McCartney and have been compared to U2, the legendary band they share the same Irish background with.

The “Today” show reaches millions of viewers daily and is the top-rated morning show in America.

This will be the Script’s second appearance on the program after their performance on St. Patrick’s Day this year.

The trio from Dublin will be the second act performing in the annual series after Sting on May 14. The Script will take the stage at Rockefeller Center, New York on May 21.
