Ryan Gosling has penned the script and will also direct. Filming is supposed to begin in Detroit this May.

The movie will also feature Gosling’s real life love interest Eva Mendes, Ben Mendelsohn, Christina Hendricks and Matt Smith

The movie weaves elements of fantasy noir, horror and suspense into a modern day fairytale. Billy, a single mother of two, played by Hendricks, is swept into a macabre and dark fantasy underworld while Bones, her 18-yr-old son, discovers a secret road leading to an underwater town.

Ronan is set to hit the big screen again next month in Stephenie Meyer’s sci-fi movie ‘The Host.’
