Belfast rap trio Kneecap made their US TV debut on Friday night, performing their new single "Sick in the Head" on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon."

The trio, which consists of Mo Chara, Móglaí Bap, and DJ Próvaí, rap in both Irish and English and are renowned for their references to republicanism, drugs, and the Irish language.

They performed their new "Sick in the Head," which features a blend of Irish and English-language lyrics and explores themes of mental health.

The song features on Kneecap's debut album "Fine Art," which is set to be released on June 14.

Kneecap has taken a stance on a number of human rights issues, recently appearing on RTÉ's "The Late Late Show" wearing pro-Palesitian clothing and emblems.

In a post on social media, the group said Friday's appearance on the "Tonight Show" was pre-recorded, preventing them from making a similar statement on US television.

"If you’ve just started following us because of our appearance on The Tonight Show – welcome a chairde (friends)," Kneecap said in a post on social media.

"Tonight was a pre-record performance, which meant our ability to make a statement on current events was not possible. We will always use our voice to speak about the genocide being committed against the Palestinian people, sadly being facilitated by the U.S.
