The cast of “Entourage” appeared at the Paley Center for Media in New York City last Wednesday night to talk about the successful series and recalled an awkward moment with Bono, asking him to wish a cast member “Happy Birthday” while onstage, according to the Huffington Post.

When the Bono encounter happened, it was only their second season - now they’re on their eighth -  and the show was relatively unknown. The cast members were at the concert being filmed, but because they were so new, they weren’t allowed to set up any of their equipment.

So, not knowing if their filming was even going to make it on air, they played it by ear. Apparently, nobody would let them through to to the front of the crowd; at a U2 concert, another chimed in, it was like people thought “We don’t care what show you’re shooting.”

The awkward part occurred when Jeremy Piven, who plays Ari Gold, was question by another, “Can you ask Bono if he could say 'Happy Birthday Johnny' on the mic?”

Piven claims that he “had to sit there and stare at Bono until after the show.” However, he did get to ask, and he said that Bono’s response was “I don’t see why not.”

The gang recounts that they weren’t sure when Bono would make the announcement, but he did do it, eventually - in Spanish.

Doug Ellin, the series creator, said that he yelled, “Kevin - hug Adrian!” in order to make it seem like the gang was surprised that Bono made the announcement.

The eighth and final season of “Entourage” premier this Sunday, July 24th.
