Irish American comedian, Kathy Griffin, who will appear on an upcoming episode of Law & Order SVU told talk show host Wendy Williams the reason behind the tears she sheds on the show.

Kathy, a staunch gay rights supporter in real life and an icon to the gay world, plays the role of a militant lesbian called "Babs Duffy" on the episode that will air on March 3.

Kathy will also share a tender moment with Irish American actress Mariska Hargitay, who goes undercover in the episode, when they lock lips and share a passionate kiss.

Wendy asked Kathy about the tears she sheds at the end of the episode.

"The tears looked real; your nose was red," Williams said.

Griffin explained her method acting. "I was never so scared in my life having that gig cause I haven't had an acting job in a long time and that's a serious show. I had diarrhea for two weeks solid ... I lost 10 pounds on that show ... and if I was crying it was probably because I just went to the bathroom."

Kathy, a two-time Emmy winner for her hilarious show 'My Life on the D List,' was a hit in the show.
